The desk was designed to match the client's ideal height and body proportions. It draws inspiration from one of the earliest projects created with Until Brooklyn. The original design, influenced by simple Scandinavian aesthetics, featured a metal frame with angled legs of a similar shape.
For this version, we opted to build the desk entirely out of wood. Selecting reclaimed white oak was an intentional choice—we love the idea of upcycling wood and incorporating materials with character. A closer look at the legs reveals the original termite tunnels from the aged wood, now cleaned up and given new life.
The desk was constructed without any metal fasteners, relying instead on traditional woodworking techniques. We used mitered and dado joints to achieve a seamless, sturdy structure. The final product is a Scandinavian-inspired desk that showcases true craftsmanship and attention to detail.
